Garage Door Questions, Answered Straight

Costs, timelines, springs, openers, warranties and safety — the real answers our technicians give on the phone every day.

How fast can you get here?

Same-day service is our standard across Texas, and our emergency line is staffed 24/7. Call (877) 230-8949 for a live arrival window.

Do you charge for estimates?

Phone estimates are free. On-site diagnostics are free with any completed repair, and you always approve a fixed written price first.

How much does garage door repair cost?

Most repairs run $150–$450 installed. Springs $180–$480, cables $130–$260, rollers $120–$220, opener repair $140–$350, tune-up $89–$149.

How much is a new garage door?

Single doors typically run $850–$2,200 installed; doubles $1,400–$4,500+ depending on insulation, material and windows.

How long do garage door springs last?

Standard springs are rated ~10,000 cycles (about 7 years of normal use). High-cycle springs rated 20,000–30,000 cycles commonly last twice as long.

Should I replace one spring or both?

Both. The surviving spring has identical age and wear, and replacing the pair keeps the door balanced and protects your opener.

Can I replace a torsion spring myself?

We strongly advise against it. Torsion springs store enough energy to cause severe injury, and correct wire size, diameter and turn count are critical.

Why won’t my garage door close?

Usually misaligned or dirty photo-eye sensors, an obstruction in the track path, or a down-limit setting that needs adjustment. Sometimes a damaged sensor wire.

Why won’t my garage door open?

Most often a broken torsion spring, a snapped cable, a stripped opener gear, a door off track, or a tripped breaker/GFCI.

Do you repair commercial and overhead doors?

Yes — rolling steel, sectional and overhead doors, commercial operators, high-cycle springs, dock equipment and preventative maintenance contracts.

Do you install Wi-Fi smart openers?

We do, including full app setup, remote and keypad programming, vehicle button syncing, and battery backup models.

Do you offer warranties?

Yes — written parts and labor warranties on all repairs, plus registration of manufacturer warranties on new doors and openers.

Which brands do you service?

Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Overhead Door, CHI, Raynor, Windsor, Garaga, LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman, Linear, Sommer and more.

Do you serve small towns or just big cities?

Both. We cover over 1,400 Texas cities and towns. Find yours on the locations page.

Is after-hours service more expensive?

There is a modest after-hours premium (typically $75–$150) for nights, weekends and holidays, always disclosed before dispatch.

Can you match a damaged panel instead of replacing the whole door?

Very often yes. If the door line and color are still available, panel replacement saves thousands versus full replacement.
